Gigi Hadid: The 28-year-old model and friend Leah McCarthy were arrested last week in the Cayman Islands when customs officers found marijuana in their hands.
“With a medical license, Gigi had legally purchased marijuana in New York City for her travels. Additionally, since 2017, Grand Cayman has permitted its medicinal usage. She enjoyed every moment of her stay on the island and her record is still clean, according to the report.
The model and McCarthy arrived at the Owen Roberts International Airport General Aviation Terminal on July 10 in a private aircraft from the United States, according to the media report. After finding just a small amount of marijuana during a search by a Customs and Border Control officer and “utensils used for the consumption of ganja” being found in their luggage, Hadid and McCarthy were arrested.

According to the article, Hadid and McCarthy were detained for importing marijuana and utensils after being apprehended, and after being processed there, they were released on bail.
McCarthy and the host of Next in Fashion appeared in Summary Court two days after the arrest, when they were both charged. The women were fined $1,000 after accepting a guilty plea. There is no record of the conviction.
Hadid has not yet spoken publicly on the arrest. On the other hand, McCarthy provided some insight on their travel on Tuesday and may have even alluded to the arrest.

Malik admitted his guilt to not contesting four allegations of harassing Yolanda Hadid in October 2021. He was given a 360-day probationary period, as well as domestic violence and anger management classes, by a Pennsylvania court. After the incident, Hadid and Malik allegedly called it quits.
